Drone / Aerial Mapping

Our SACAA-licensed drone pilots fly mapping missions with RTK/PPK accuracy to produce orthophotos, 3D meshes, point clouds and volumetrics. Ideal for quarries, construction progress, farms, game lodges and large topo where walking is slow or unsafe.

What you receive

  • Orthomosaic (GeoTIFF)
  • 3D point cloud (LAS/LAZ)
  • Digital Surface Model
  • Stockpile / cut-fill volumes
  • Progress videos + inspection imagery

How we work

  1. 1
    Flight planning + permissions
Airspace check, SACAA compliance, ground control layout for survey-grade accuracy.
  2. 2
    RTK drone flight
Automated grid flight with 70-80% overlap, ground control observed by GNSS.
  3. 3
    Photogrammetry processing
Orthomosaic, DSM, point cloud and QA against check points.
  4. 4
    Delivery
Cloud link + GeoTIFF + PDF volume report. We explain accuracy achieved on your site.

Common questions — Drone / Aerial Mapping

How accurate is drone mapping?

With RTK + ground control we typically achieve 2-5cm horizontal accuracy. Without control it is for visuals only — we always recommend control for engineering use.

Can you fly in dense bush?

Yes, but photogrammetry cannot see through trees. For vegetated sites we recommend LiDAR or ground survey for true ground levels.

Are you licensed?

Yes, SACAA ROC-linked licensed pilots with flight logs, maintenance and insurance for commercial operations.
