Common questions — Cadastral Surveying
My beacon is missing, what now?
Do not guess or use a tape from a fence. Only a PLS can legally replace a beacon. We find the legal position from SG data, replace the beacon and issue proof.
How long does subdivision approval take?
Municipal consent typically 3-12 months depending on municipality, then SG examination 1-3 months. We pre-consult to avoid rejections.
What is the Surveyor General?
The SG is the custodian of all cadastral records. No subdivision or new erf is legal until the SG approves the diagram.
